Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about OWSH Systems.

General

What is OWSH Systems?

OWSH Systems is a free diagnostic tool that analyzes your local business's online presence across six dimensions: Site Health, Google Business Profile, Local Rankings, Directory Listings, Schema Markup, and Social Presence.

Is OWSH Systems really free?

Yes! All individual diagnostic tools and the full audit are completely free. We may introduce premium features in the future, but the core diagnostic will always have a free tier.

Do I need to create an account?

No account is required. You can run unlimited audits without signing up. Optionally, you can save your email to receive results and updates.

How long does an audit take?

Individual modules take 15-45 seconds each. A full audit combining all six modules completes in about 2-3 minutes.

How accurate are the audit results?

Our audits use real-time data from Google APIs and industry-standard tools. Results reflect your actual online presence at the moment of the audit, though search engine results can vary by location and time.

Will running an audit affect my Google rankings?

No. Our audit is read-only and does not make any changes to your website or listings. It simply analyzes publicly available information about your business.

Technical

What data do you collect?

We only collect the business information you provide (name, website, location). We don't store sensitive data or share information with third parties. Results are stored temporarily for your session.

How is the health score calculated?

Your health score is a weighted combination of six modules: Site Health (35%), Google Presence (20%), Local Rankings (20%), Directory Listings (15%), Schema Markup (5%), and Social Presence (5%).

What APIs power the diagnostics?

We use Google PageSpeed Insights for site health, SerpAPI for Google Business Profile and local rankings, DataForSEO for some data, and custom algorithms for NAP consistency and schema validation.

Can I export my results?

Yes! The full audit includes PDF export. You can also share results via a unique link or save them to your email.

What is Core Web Vitals and why does it matter?

Core Web Vitals are Google's metrics for user experience: LCP (loading speed), FID (interactivity), and CLS (visual stability). Google uses these as ranking factors, so poor scores can hurt your search visibility.

What is NAP consistency?

NAP stands for Name, Address, and Phone number. Consistency means your business information is identical across all online directories. Inconsistent NAP confuses Google and can hurt your local rankings.

Using the Tools

What's the difference between free tools and the full audit?

Free tools let you run individual modules one at a time. The full audit runs all six modules together, providing a combined health score, prioritized findings, and a comprehensive report.

How often should I run an audit?

We recommend running a full audit monthly, or after making significant changes to your website, Google Business Profile, or directory listings.

Can I use this for my clients?

Absolutely! Many agencies use OWSH Systems for client audits. For white-label reports and API access, check out our Agency plan.

What if my business doesn't have a website?

You can still run audits! The Google Business Profile, Local Rankings, and Directory Listings modules work without a website. Site Health and Schema modules require a website URL.

What does the Local SEO grid show?

The Local SEO grid simulates searches from multiple locations around your business to show where you rank in each area. This helps identify neighborhoods where you're visible vs. where you're missing.

Why is my Google Business Profile score low?

Common reasons include incomplete profile info, few reviews, no photos, old posts, or missing business hours. Each issue is flagged with specific steps to improve.

Implementation

Do I need technical knowledge to understand the results?

No! Results are designed for business owners with clear, actionable recommendations. Each finding includes a difficulty rating (DIY, Developer, Agency) and step-by-step guidance.

Can you help me fix the issues found?

OWSH Systems provides the diagnosis. If you need implementation help, our parent company OWSH Creative offers full-service local SEO and web development. Visit owshcreative.com for more.

What are "Quick Wins"?

Quick Wins are high-impact issues that are easy to fix. We prioritize these at the top of your findings so you can make the biggest improvements with the least effort.

How long does it take to see results after making fixes?

Site speed improvements show immediately. Google Business Profile changes typically reflect within 3-5 days. SEO ranking improvements can take 4-8 weeks to fully materialize.

What's the difference between DIY, Developer, and Agency fixes?

DIY fixes are simple tasks you can do yourself (like updating GBP hours). Developer fixes need coding skills (like adding schema). Agency fixes are complex projects best handled by professionals (like site redesigns).
